Termite & vine, is a semi legalised squat in morteville, swamp parish, new france, the 504.
The squat was opened in 2005 and at first had no windows, doors, electricity, or sewage.
The roof leaks and the floors are caving in.
IN 007 facing the possibility of eviction we filed legal documents to start process to own the house.
In 008 we incorporated as a non profit homesteaders advocacy Co-op.
Our Purpose as a Non-profit is to provide a space where travelling artists and musicians can worktrade for a place to stay.
the members of our non-profit will own the house together collectivly
As of spring 2008 we are trying to pass a building inspection.
After that we can negotiate with the city to have our back taxes Amnestied.
and then the house will be ours forever.
This blog is a diary/ newletter of what it took to turn an abandoned condemned building in to a home for a dozen permenant residents and a place to stay for hundreds of travelling guest artists and musicians.
