CRack hotel
Ak d HE

( 16 floors tall on the edge of the were the quarter meets the Central buissiness district, in the middle of the canal-tulane-broad triangle of blight. the crack head hotal, AKA tha pallas, formerly the delta towers is the most freaked out abandoned thing in town since they reopened the city. "pallas hotel" has several restuaraunts, a city block of offic space, a television studio, numerous stores, and the whole thing has been abandoned since the great flood of 005. in 003-004 a man bought the place, the former bankrupted delta towers lock stock and barrel. he reopened one of the two towers as a hotel leaving the other tower and its 300 rooms in temporary storage. then the flood hit and the places was fucked up... the man bailed and stopped paying the towers mortgage. now palla is a no mans land that was reposessed by crack heads and home bums who were forced out of the motel squat when some careless asshole set it alight. the exact population and demographics of pallas are unknown. certainly theres plenty of desperate crack feinds and agro home bums in there. my friend whisky has some people in there but says they )

entry gained through parking garage fire exit 2nd floor. lots of cajun tour bus van lines in here, many vans have had tires removed and are converted in to houses.
 entry by roof top courtyard
entry gained in to one of 600 rooms... all rooms have been ransacked trashed and often lived in....

right by the time i wound up in this room tho, i heard the sound from the NEXT ROOM of people talking and watching television. the place has limited power, most room breakers are cut off but emergancy power is turned on. jury rigged extension cords drop out of exit signs and trail down halls.

hearing people in other room possibly discussing what the noise in the hallway was i quietly snuck out of the room and went down fire exit stairs to 2nd floor were i wound up in a series of rooms each storage for soem different hotel thing. this one full of tv sets.. another full of lightbulbs. lots of water damage tho the flood didnt get up here ?? broken windows and tornados ?? sprinkler system ??

 someones office squat

wandered arround finding lots of offices and rooms of junk and lil sleeping spots. found a map room with blueprints of the entire hotel but could only get a clear floor plan of second floor. and a generic floorplan for floors 5-15 which were uniform hotel rooms aranged in 2 u shaped towers. this room here was labeled as a TV station. tho it was a cramped 1500 sq low ceilinged space with elevated floors to run wires under. couldnt find any tv equipment, just miles of sheilded cable and racks thnat once housed stuff.
while i was searching for the tv station a womans voice started shreiking and giggling right above this room and then there was the sound of sprinting footsteps goign from one side of the room to the other and back with lots of crashing in to stuff. male voices hollering. sounded kinda jubliant but still kinna freaked me out.

i'd been in the hotel for over an hour without meeting anybuddy when suddenly i heard people coming down the fire stairs i'd come down... i thought it would be easiest just to dodge detection so i quick walked down a hallway in to the administrative offices. Pallas takes up an entire city block by its self, and the offices are packed in densely in confusing coridors, the result of decades of acumulated renovations. so i ran away from the fire exit in to a maze with no windows. i knew what i was doing i thought cuz i had foresight enuff to grab the map from the plans room.

and here is the giant puddle of blood in the main sales office. not fresh, note the window panes placed on top of it, but fresh enuff to still be red and undevoured by insects. maybe a few weeks to a few months ?? this kind of gave me a chill but i decidede to keep exploring, however with new resolve not to meet anybuddy.

attempting to keep my course going away from the populated part of the hotel and navigating through the dark offices turned out to be completly rediculous. the hallways at one point abandoned right angles and and the 45 degree angle made frequent appearences amongst trapezoid rooms. the map itself was way out of date. a large section of offices had been turned in to a maintenance department, and many features doors and walls had just moved arround.

towards the west side i got complelty fucking lost, trying to navigate with a shity map and avoid weird noises and voices, and then i got sucked into this area were the people who lived there had built furniture baricades in all the hallways. i had to climb through hallways stacked to the ceiling with matressess and chairs and garbage designed to make noise alerting people ahead of me of approaching intruders. eventually i came out in to some kind of lil sanctuary room were there were several sleeping spots and lots of food and alchol garbage. this camp seemed at least several weeks abandoned from dusty and rotten ness of food waste... i beat my way through a bunch more booby trapped hallway until i got to the fire exit i was looking for. but it was welded shut.
so i cut arround the north side through some utility maintenance coridors towards a conference room with multiple exits. right before i got to it i wound up at a wall made of several thicknessess of drywall. i could hear distant voices and didnt want to draw anyone towards me so i had to navigate all the way back through the booby trapped hive camp which took forever and wound up being less a back track than me finding a totally new bunch of booby trapped hallways.
i spent over 2 hours wandering around in the mother fucking dark with weird voices all arround me climbing on moldy furniture.
eventually i doubled back to the original way i got on to the second floor, the fire stairs, and took an adjacent flight down a floor to another welded shut fire exit. this time i gave up and climbed up a wall to a vent cover and forced my way noisily through the drop ceiling of the first floor and would up in the cavernous laundry facility.

once on the ground floor things were way more relaxed. the rooms were all sparse and huge and there were windows.
i wandered arround here for a while trying to find my way to the restaurant with the piano in it or the little store fronts. i walked by accident right in to the hotel lobby, which tho kind of drab, was weirdly clean and tidy and there were freakin pamphletes sitting out in pamphlete holders and no out of place trash anywere. and this building has had about 3 feet of water in it and that was evident in every other room but the lobby.
then two people started coming arround the corner so i shoved my way out the front doors. i wound up on the corner of claibourne with lots of rush our traffic between me and a dozen depressed looking crak heads sitting arround under the highway staring at me.
