Dixie beer is a cheap domestic. since the brewery was destroyed by the great flood its been brewed in tiny batches in a facility in mississippissippi.
kids whove lived here all their lives have differed in opinion on it. one kid offered me $20 to climb back in to the factory and get him a giant truck sized dixie sticker. another kid said dixe was schwill and was only good as a local alternative to miller. regardless, the brewery was destroyed by the great flood of 005. the dixie sits right across the street from other famous destroyed brewery Falstaff which is currently getting renovated in low income housing (and not condos like we feared...) falstaff has been a morteville party foolishness climbing structure for decades since it closed in 77. the interior of the dixie is infact twice as beautiful... but its days are numbered few as a major demolition company is dismantling its innerds for scrap metal.

the bottles still sitting in this fill machine are frozen on the little ramp slide. at the bottom of the slide were they are 4 feet from the factory floor they change to being broken and full of flood water...

conveyor belt from bottleing to packaging. strangely bottling was in a different building from brewing and packaging. in fact the beer was pumped over packaging to bottling then conveyored back to packing in bottles and then dropped through the floor to shipping.
i found about 20 palletts of bottle caps (approx 1000 per box x 64 boxes per pallett x 20 = 1280000 bottle caps....)
HINT : you have to climb up this labling machine to get to the roof to get to the brewery to get to the top of the dixie.

i want to steal this vise but i left my wrech set in rock island. whisky went to dixie after i told him about it and he found three nozzels for leaf blowers that he carries arround with him constantly... "man,... last night.. i dropped one of my leaf blower nozzels while i was drunk bike... and i had to go back and look the whole way i came to find it... it was only 5 miles away on jefferson... im sure glad nobuddy took it cuz i was freaked out the whole way"
